Our Key Conservation Priorities

- Preserve water quality, ecosystems and biodiversity of the Molalla River
- Secure Wild & Scenic River designation for the upper Molalla River
- Reduce unlawful and unacceptable human behaviors
- Protect and manage habitats critical for breeding, spawning or nesting
- Support recovery of ESA-listed wild winter steelhead and Chinook salmon
- Improve river quality, water temperatures and riparian areas for enhanced fish rearing and survival
- Identify threats to the natural resources of the Molalla River and define abatement strategies
- Work with the Bureau of Land Management to develop a comprehensive management plan for the Molalla River Recreation Corridor
- Expand emergency and cellular communications within the Corridor
- Support diverse enjoyment of the Molalla River Recreation Corridor including tourism and family-friendly activities

Our Committes and Chairs
Our committees are encouraged to meet as often as they deem necessary, maintain minutes of their meetings and provide periodic reports and recommendations to the board of directors and to the members.

The Recreation Committee shall implement plans that encourage diverse enjoyment of the Molalla River Recreation Corridor, including tourism, recreation and family-friendly activities. This committee's responsibilities include:
- Enhancing recreational experiences in the Corridor;
- Facilitating the creation of full-service designated campgrounds and encouraging removal of illegal and dispersed camping areas;
- Working with the Bureau of Land Management to create a comprehensive management plan for the Molalla River Recreation Corridor;
- Expanding Alliance membership with additional recreational groups and organizations;
- Implementing plans which encourage accessibility and day-use activities;
- Assisting the Alliance's efforts to secure "Wild & Scenic River" designation for the main stem of the Molalla River and the Table Rock Fork of the Molalla River;
Communication / Law Enforcement:

The Communication and Law Enforcement Committee shall work with local law enforcement, the community and other MRA committees to identify issues of public safety within the corridor and develop plans and actions necessary to enforce laws, prevent crime and educate users. The committee will also work to improve emergency communication transmission capabilities of law enforcement agencies, into and out of the river corridor. This committee's responsibilities include:
- Coordinating expanded law enforcement patrols;
- Alleviating adverse effects of human activities on the River;
- Assisting the Community Outreach Committee in promoting public awareness of vital conservation issues affecting the River;
- Improving communication systems, such as cell phone coverage, public signage and "rules and guidelines flyers;
Science:

The Science Committee guides the Alliance's efforts to protect and restore the natural resources of the Molalla River Watershed through ecosystem-based management practices. This committee's responsibilities include:
- Accessing and inventorying available historical data;
- Identifying existing threats and potential external and internal threats to the health of the River's natural resources and biodiversity;
- Identifying indicator species;
Education and Community Outreach:

The Community Outreach and Education Committee shall be responsible for publicizing, educating and promoting the goals, purposes and activities of the Molalla River Alliance. This committee's responsibilities include:
- Distinguishing cultural, economic and political influences which may contribute threats to, or may enhance opportunities for, the Molalla River;
- Producing and distributing conservation and environmental educational materials to the community and area schools;
- Producing and distributing the Molalla River Alliance Quarterly Interim Report to our members and interested parties;
- Creating a speakers bureau;
- Coordinating the Alliance's media outreach;
- Sharing with others what we learn;
